Beat the stock market by investing in this rare treasure. This very hard to find 1978 PONTIAC TRANS AM 6.6 4-Barrel Carburetor COUPE. IS NOT a re-conditioned vehicle. This is a manufacturer ALL ORIGINAL with only 30,747 original miles. In the early '70's developing horsepower had nearly become a lost art for U.S. carmakers. Struggling with emissions, fuel economy regulations, and the constant pressures of the insurance industry, horsepower levels had been on a downward spiral with seemingly no end in sight. After years of cutting performance levels, the T/A 6.6 engine of the '77 Trans Am started to reverse that trend. Horsepower increased on the 400 V8 for the first time since 1974. Not only had horsepower returned to be a good word in the American car builders vocabulary, a new word was beginning to be noticed; handling. No longer were cars being built for the carefree days of cruising down endless interstates good enough. We wanted cars with razor sharp reflexes and flat cornering attitudes. Pontiac was able to meet both those needs for 1978 in the Trans Am. It has the hard to find Red Plush Velour interior inside of the Platinum Exterior as most of them had the black interior. You can tell by the trunk mat that this was a Norwood built Trans AM. As you will be able to see from the pictures all tags and markings are in place. Look at the picture of the seat belt. This car has been driven so little that they don't even have any wear on them. Dual chrome exhaust with dual tips as well as the original wheels, Steering wheel and decals are in place including the dash board diamonds. All items on this vehicle work including all the lights.
