Ray bought one of our specialty vehicles, a 1970 AMC Rebel "Machine"
Hi A.J.,Thanks for your interest. You beat me to it. I was going to email you this evening after I got home from work. I was mentally and physically exhausted last night. The Rebel arrived at my home yesterday a 3:30pm. Chris, the driver who loaded the car with you, delivered it also - really good guy. The rebel was up behind the cab, as you mentioned. I got all your paperwork. I am going to the license office tomorrow. I trust all will go well. I am making arrangements with an appraiser to do a report for the insurance company - apparently it's a requirement. The driver said he was held up a US Customs at Lewiston for an hour because there was still one hour left of the 72 hour requirement on their having a copy of the title to check. Chris was not impressed as he mentioned that a few of the customs officers are not very nice - other officers would not have made him wait. Can you believe it?The rebel started right up and came off the truck with no problem. When I went to pull the car into my garage after the driver left, I started to crank up the driver's side window and broke off the knob on the window crank. As you can imagine, I could have screamed, but I didn't. I should have let the car warm up longer after the long haul. Chris had to roll the window down and stick his head out so he could make sure the car was on the tracks correctly as it came off the transport.I feel better today because I contacted an AMC parts supplier about half an hour from me, and he believes he can fix me up. Thank goodness! It sure felt good when I found out yesterday that the transport was 35 minutes from my home. A long-time dream finally came true. Donna and our girls, Amber and Susan, really like the car too. The girls really enjoyed getting pictures beside the car after school yesterday. All I can say A.J. is that your level of interest and service goes far beyond what a customer gets here in Canada. You folks are so far ahead of the curve down in the States that it puts the dealers in the Toronto areas to shame. And I am not exaggerating. Papa's Auto House's concept of retail service is a generation ahead of Canadian auto retailing. I nearly fell of my stool when I was having breakfast with you at the dealership when I turned around and saw an elderly lady, not a day under 75, getting her hair styled in the barber shop. I did a double-take - I couldn't believe it.Well A..J., I will sign off for now. Thanks for making sure the rebel got sent on its way in good order.I put in the mail today to you a picture of the car taken at your dealership the day I bought it.Best regards,Ray CarterRay Carter,Whitby, Ontario Canada
